Monday morning rush in Lagos
A typical Monday morning in Lagos is usually accompanied with a lot of frowning faces, long queues at the BRT stations and a rush for the scarce small buses plying the major routes of the business districts of Lagos.
Even vehicle owners are not spared, as some were seen in their various cars with unfriendly looks and some seen verbally assaulting other road users, could it be that, they prefered the weekend to continue or they are tired of their daily jobs?
OMG gathered that the endless queues most times is due to the slow perfomance of the ticketers and some commuters were of the view that the BRT staffs are nonchalant and sometimes would leave them to their fate depending on the time the BRT buses would come and pick them from their busstop.
Most times, some passengers become agitated at the sight of other commuters trying to shunt the queue, after a frustrating long hours of standing .
Today was not different, as the BRT buses on the Oshodi-Ajah axis took several hours before conveying the passengers to their destination. Ojota park, Dopemu Park and Iyana paja park also had the feel of the stressful queue.
Mr. Adeenwo, a worker on the island says, he prefers to wake up very early to get a bus without the endless queue and stress, other Market women were of the view that the buses are to be made available on a sunday evening at various terminals to ease the tension of the monday rush along the major business districts in Lagos.
